Adapt of Texas,
Inc. is a proprietary mental health service organization, with service sites located in Austin, Corsicana, Dallas, Kaufman, McKinney, Plano, and Waxahachie. The organization began in 1986 when it was awarded a
contract to provide community-based mental health service to 39 persons then residing in Terrell State Hospital. After the commencement of the NorthSTAR program in 1999, consumers were given a choice in
selecting their provider, and consumers have embraced that choice. Adapt now assists over 5,000 persons with severe and persistent mental illness create lives in the community.
