Ms. Cowen is the Vice President of Business Development of Adapt of America, Inc. In this capacity, Ms. Cowen is
responsible for expanding programs and products in all AOA subsidiary and related entities. Prior to her VPBD position, she served as the Executive Director of Adapt Community Alternatives.
As the Executive Director, Ms. Cowen oversaw the day-to-day operations of a multi-agency collaboration providing independent living services to adolescents and young adults in Chicago, Illinois. Previously, Ms. Cowen served as the Director of Child and Adolescent Services for five years at the Youth Network Council (YNC), a non profit entity, specializing in high risk youth. Prior to that position, Ms. Cowen held various positions including Director of Contracts Management, Director of Communication and Development and Division Manager for a thirty-five million dollar youth service agency in the Chicagoland area. Ms. Cowen holds as Bachelors degree in Law and Public Policy from Indiana University and a Masters in Social Work from San Diego State University. Ms. Cowen has been appointed to multiple task forces and committees on child and adolescent policy and is currently in her twelfth year on the Child Welfare Advisory Council- Finance and Administration committee.
