Adapt was founded in Missouri in 1982 to fill a gap in services then available to seriously mentally ill persons. Adapt's mission is to provide services to persons with mental illness for whom traditional methods of treatment and rehabilitation have not been sufficient. Adapt provides psychiatric rehabilitation, supported housing and partial hospitalization services to adult and elderly individuals in Missouri, Texas and Illinois.

Adapt works to minimize the effects of the person's mental illness which may interfere with leading a normal and productive life. As much as possible, individuals and their families participate in the development of their individualized treatment plan and in deciding what services they'll receive. Adapt tailors programs to meet individual's needs.
