Adapt of Illinois provides the highest quality of psychiatric rehabilitation services to clients. Our assessment tools, program design and training methods are
unique to meet the needs of persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
Basic to our philosophy is the belief that almost every person with severe functional deficits can live
successfully in the community if enough of the right services are in place to support that person. We believe empowerment, self-esteem, self-determination and mutual support are essential to a
client's well being and ability to achieve successful community living. We believe our services reflect those values.
Through the years, we have refined our services to meet the needs of individuals with serious mental
illnesses. These people have usually spent most of their adult lives in and out of State Hospitals with limited success in community living. We have found that through the provision of supportive
rehabilitation services, these same individuals can live successfully in the community with fewer hospitalizations, on lower levels of psychotropic medications, and with maximum opportunities to enjoy a
normal life.
Adapt works to minimize the effects of the person's mental illness, which may
interfere with leading a normal and productive life. As much as possible, individuals and their families participate in the development of their individualized treatment plan and in deciding what
services they will receive. Adapt of Illinois tailors programs to meet individual's needs.
